History
NF Mid-Atlantic is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing the most reliable, comprehensive, and up-to-date news and information about Neurofibromatosis to those affected by the disorder, medical professionals, caregivers and loved ones. NF Mid-Atlantic was founded in 1979 and is the oldest continuous NF chapter in the United States. NF Mid-Atlantic provides reliable, complete, and up-to-date information about Neurofibromatosis, we participate and fund research to seek an effective treatment for all forms of NF, and we are the major force behind Camp New Friends, which each summer provides a loving and safe outdoor environment for young people with NF
Our service area started out encompassing Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and North Carolina. We have expanded our reach to fulfill the NF support, awareness and education needs of the international community.
